INSINUME 2014 CANCELLATION - IN SItu NUclear MEtrology as a tool for radioecology

[ CANCELLATION of the 2014 edition (06‐10 OCTOBER 2014 - Uzhgorod, Ukraine) ]

Considering the different events occurring in Ukraine and the low number of registered participants, the Organizing Committee informs authors and colleagues about the decision to cancel the International Symposium (scheduled to be held on 6‐10 October 2014 in Uzhgorod city in the Institute of Electron Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).

Dear author of abstracts, dear colleagues,

On behalf of the International and Local Organizing Committees of INSINUME, I regret to inform you that INSINUME 2014 is cancelled because of the very limited number of participants despite the efforts of the Local Organizing Committee.

INSINUME being an international conference, it is meaningless to organize such a symposium with so few people and nationalities represented. This is pity considering the number of abstracts received but this is a case of force majeure regarding the situation currently prevailing in Ukraine that was completely unexpected one year ago.

The conference cycle of INSINUME will of course continue and we keep as a possible option to organize INSINUME in June 2015 in Ukraine or in another country. We will inform you in the near future. I take this opportunity to thank you all for your interest in the INSINUME conferences and for your valuable contribution to make it a successful and enriching event.

I am looking forward to meeting you in the next INSINUME conference.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Grégory Delécaut
Chairman of the International Organizing Committee.

Reminder

The Institute of Electron Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in co‐operation with IUR, IRE ELiT and IAEA and several national institutions of Ukraine are organizing the 7th International Symposium on IN SITU NUCLEAR METROLOGY AS A TOOL FOR RADIOECOLOGY.

Objectives

Download call for papers

The understanding and prediction of behaviour and fate of the radionuclides in ecosystems are possible by using approaches in nuclear methodology and metrology for radioecological studies.

The objectives of the INSINUME’s symposia including INSINUME’2014 are the sharing of knowledge about new achievements in nuclear technologies and methodologies, and their practical applications for more reliable and accurate measurements of radionuclides in ecosystems to evaluate the radiation exposure of biota and man in both normal and incidental / accidental conditions with respect to the natural radioactivity.

The 2014 conference will address a broad scope of topics in radiological monitoring of the environment with new approaches in nuclear metrology and radioecology.
